Zgang et al(2004) examined the relationship of hair dye use or diet with non hodgkin’s lymphma in a case control study. An increased risk in women was reported in women /who colored their hair before 1980./ These dyes contained a chemical that has since been banned in cosmetics.Diet was linked to increased risk with a ratio of 1.9 for saturated fat and 1.7 for animal protein.
Morton et al(2007) showed women had an increased risk of NonHodgkins lymphoma if they had the NAT2 rapid/intermediate acetylator phenotype or 1 or 2 copies of the NAT *10 allele.
