A study in The International Journal of Cancer showed findings of increased risk of breast cancer in black women using  Permanent dye ( was associated with 45% higher breast cancer risk), and 7% higher risk in white women. Nonprofessional application of semipermanent dye to others was associated with breast cancer risk.

This to me suggests that haircolor marketed to black women may be more toxic than brands marketed to white women. I don’t know the brands associated with this study.
